MT. HOPE COMMUNITY CHURCH
Led by Pastor Charles H. Walker ll and his wife, Minister Kendra M. Walker, this small, non-denominational house of worship serves as a beacon of compassion and light in a community ravaged by crime, poverty, addiction, and spiritual bankruptcy. The church’s name is also its mantra: “Helping Our People Excel in faith & understanding of God’s Word.” To God be the glory that His work has begun. It only takes a few to turn the world “right-side-up!”
U.C.C.B. (United Coalition of Churches & Brotherhood)
A collaboration of churches, businesses, and concerned citizens that serves as the “voice for the voiceless.” U.C.C.B. strategically employs a grassroots approach from a faith-based foundation to inform and empower communities to address events and practices that are detrimental to their present and future. Personal and political agendas have no place here. U.C.C.B. is driven by the people for the people. We are determined to lead by serving our fellow brethren just as our Savior did-- person by person and community by community.
SHIPHRAH Women’s Ministry
Like the Old Testament midwife Shiphrah, this ministry was born to facilitate the emergence of life into families and communities through strong, beautifully-spirited women who fear God. Midwives are trained to provide support, guidance, and handle emotionally-charged situations. It is in this same spirit that Shiphrah Women’s Ministry was founded: To pour into the practical and spiritual needs of women in order to replenish, restore, and renew the peace of mind and strength that the daily rigors and pitfalls of life have robbed from them.
The premise of this ministry is simple: “One cannot pour out the love of God if they are not first filled with it.”
